Please read before you order...

Ordering / returns / refunds /general issues /general cake care

 

The bit I don't really like is the paperwork side :( so here's all the general facts and info you should know :

 

Ingredients .......

#As there are so many different colours, icings etc...rather than have a huge unreadable list of ingredients here, all i can ask is that if you need to know any ingredients to contact ShortCakes, and I will be happy to either email you a copy or discuss the ingredients by phone or in person. 

#All cakes may contain traces of nuts as I use and store nuts on the ShortCakes premises. 

 

ordering ..........

# when ordering a cake/ treat  i will need a minimum of 2 weeks notice

# take your time to describe the cake and all your requirements , i will complete a sketch of the cake and list all requirements for your appraisal 

# once the order has been forwarded a 50% deposit will be required to secure your order , until the deposit has been paid your cake slot is still an open slot for other customer orders

# delivery can be arranged at an extra cost but generally this is a cake pick up  

# due to the handmade nature of my cakes and treats the actual finished product may vary from image in the gallery 

# i cannot guarantee that my cakes and treats are nut free

 

cake care ........

#  cupcakes are not meant to be refrigerated and are best kept in room temperature away from windows and consumed within 2-3 days of purchase

# cakes also are not meant to be refrigerated and are best kept in room temperature and away from windows , the sugar paste covered cakes can be kept for up to one week from purchase(depending on cake) , the butter cream covered ones are best eaten within 2-3 days    

#i do strive to create the exact cake design you want but i do reserve the right to use my creative licence where i feel necessary in order to maintain the quality of all my products and designs , please keep in mind that this is a food based art.

 

transporting cakes ........

# advice for transporting your cakes , drive slow , avoid speed bumps, avoid slamming on brakes , and keep the car cold . icing is a very fragile thing and i wouldn't want any damage coming to the cake/ treat on your way home. and don't leave it in a car as the heat will do awful things to the icing :(

#the full responsibility of the safety of the cake is with the client and ShortCakes will not be responsible for any damage caused once it has left the premises. 

#ShortCakes can fix damages at cost to the customer, if the customer/venue has damaged the cake.

#My advice is to hold the cakes underneath the box, not pressing in on the sides of the box in any way. If travelling in a car, place the box on a flat surface, ideally the boot of the car and put it as far forward, so if you brake sharply it won't slide forward. The car seats slant so I will never advise a customer to place a cake on the seats. A foot well area is an ok place to put your cake, but bear in mind that it may go in ...but can you get it back out? And if none of these are available then place it on a passengers lap.  

 

Offers........

#All offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. 

#All offers time periods are at the discretion of ShortCakes. 

#All terms & conditions on offers are to be followed, no exceptions.

# An offer cannot be backdated. 

#Offers are only valid at that time. 

 

 

cancellation......

# due to the varying levels of intricacy for each cake / treat design , cancellation deadline is one week prior to the pick up date for all customer orders and you may have your deposit back

# cancellations of orders made within the 7 days prior to pick up date , the 50% deposit will be forfeited 

#any changes to the order must be made at least 7 days prior to pick up date

 

Edible photos............

#Customers can email, post or bring in photos to be scanned direct into the computer. 

#Customers are advised that all photos left for scanning are left at their own risk .

#Memory Sticks, and disks and text pictures will not be accepted as these pose risks to my computer system and  privacy. 

#ShortCakes will search for other images on-line, as I know which are the best to use, when it comes to ink saturation and pixel amounts.  

 

Customers Items left at own Risk...........

# Items given to ShortCakes to copy or use are left at the customers own risk. 

# Bride & Grooms will not be attached to wedding cakes, as they tend to topple from cakes in transit. They are better to placed onto the cake at the venue.  

 

refunds / cake credit ......

#  full/partial refunds will be at my discretion 

# refunds/ cake credit  will only be given if i fail to have the cake ready for your pick up , if i fail to fulfil the criteria for the cake in our detailed discussions. 

# if when you come to eat the cake and the flavour and or texture is undesirable please return the left over cake to myself to examine within 2-3 days , if the cake is confirmed to be undesirable the 50% deposit will be refunded back or cake credit to the value of the deposit 

#please be aware that if a refund or cake credit is granted that the cake must be returned , you are not to keep the cake as well as the refund
